This treatment uses focused ultrasound to deliver energy to a targeted depth beneath the skin, without breaking the skin. It is used as a non-surgical treatment for areas of body fat, and we offer it for the abdomen and flanks (the sides of the waist). What to expect, including risks Consultation: We assess you, talk through what you'd like to address and whether the treatment is suitable, and explain the risks and what to expect. During treatment: The treatment can be uncomfortable or briefly painful while the energy is delivered. After treatment: Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or temporary numbness can occur and usually settle over the period afterwards. Suitability and results: It isn't suitable for everyone, including people with certain medical conditions and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Results vary from one person to the next, develop gradually, and aren't guaranteed. More than one session may be needed.
