Service Description

Laser treatment for the face is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment for the skin. It uses a laser to deliver focused light energy to the skin, which prompts the skin's natural healing response. A course of several treatments is often needed. How it works Consultation: We assess your skin, talk through what you'd like to address and whether the treatment suits you, and explain the risks and aftercare. Laser application: The laser delivers focused light energy to the skin on the face. Healing: Over the following weeks, the treated skin heals. What to expect, including risks Laser treatment affects the skin in a controlled way, so some healing is part of the process. Things to expect and consider include: Downtime: Redness, swelling or a warm, sunburn-like sensation are common straight after the treatment, and usually settle within a few hours to a few days. The skin can feel dry or flaky as it heals. Infection: As with any treatment that affects the skin, there's a risk of infection at the treated sites. Pigment changes and scarring: There's a risk of changes in skin pigmentation and, less commonly, scarring. This risk is higher for people with darker skin tones. Suitability: It's not suitable for everyone, including people with certain skin conditions, recently tanned or sun-exposed skin, those taking medication that increases sun sensitivity, and people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. More than one session is usually needed, and results vary from one person to the next. We'll go through the risks, the recovery and whether the treatment suits you at your consultation. Benefits Non-surgical, with no incisions. Treats the skin on the face. Aftercare Avoid direct sun and use a high-SPF sunscreen on the treated areas. Keep the skin moisturised and avoid harsh skincare products while it heals. Follow the aftercare instructions we give you. This treatment is provided by Ann Butler (NMW0001454416), Registered Nurse (Division 1), Nurse Practitioner. Book a consultation to find out whether laser treatment for the face suits you.
