Lip tattoo, also known as lip blush, is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that adds colour, shape and definition to the lips. Using a tattooing technique, we implant pigment into the lips to create either a soft, natural tint or a more defined look, depending on what you're after. It can suit people who want to spend less time on daily lip makeup, or who'd like a little more definition in their lips. How it works Consultation: We talk through the lip colour, shape and overall look you want, and check the result fits your preferences. Preparation: We clean the lips and apply a numbing cream to reduce discomfort during the treatment. Pigment application: Using a fine needle or digital machine, we deposit pigment into the lips in layers to build the colour and effect. Healing: The lips heal over about 5 to 10 days. The colour often looks darker at first, then softens to its final shade. Risks and considerations Swelling, redness or tenderness right after the treatment. Fading: The pigment fades over time, so touch-ups are needed to keep the look. Suitability: It's not suitable for everyone, including people with certain skin conditions, allergies or sensitivities. Infection: As with any tattoo, there's a small risk of infection at the site. Aftercare Avoid touching, licking or putting makeup on the lips while they heal. Keep the lips moisturised with the recommended ointment, and avoid spicy or acidic foods.
